OpenX Welcomes Satoru Yamauchi as Director of Partner Services, Japan; Announces Record Growth in Market in 2017

TOKYO and LOS ANGELES – April 11, 2018 – OpenX, the world’s leading independent advertising technology provider, today announced the appointment of Satoru Yamauchi as director of partner services for Japan. With two decades of experience in leading strategic account teams at global digital media companies, Satoru will oversee partnership success in the region.

OpenX also announced today record growth in the Japan market for 2017. OpenX Japan recorded 52 percent growth in net revenue year-over-year as of January 2018 and saw its number of publisher partners double in the same time period. It is now the largest independent advertising exchange in the country (second overall to Google).

Satoru was most recently head of sales at AdRoll where he led the company’s go-to-market strategy in Japan and saw the company’s clientele grow from zero to over 1,000 advertisers. Prior to that, Satoru was the GM at Recruit Holdings where he managed 48 employees, encompassing the ad tech, operating, display and SEM teams. Satoru has also held roles at Yahoo! Japan and Overture.
