The OpenX Platform Demand team manages all DSP relationships across the OpenX Ad Exchange. The Account Director will be responsible for ensuring our customer’s success and satisfaction with our products and contributing to their long-term loyalty. Reporting to the Director, Platform Development, the Account Director will work closely with the OpenX Support, Sales, Yield Management, Product Management, and Ad Quality teams to ensure that OpenX is delivering overall superior service to our DSPs.

Role: Manage day-to-day workflow and communication between OpenX and its strategic demand clients (DSPs).  Onboard new real time bidding partners as needed. Drive revenue by identifying client growth opportunities, implementing new product offerings, and monitoring key performance indicators to maintain healthy relationships.  Interface directly with internal OpenX teams to resolve client requests while managing expectations throughout the customer life cycle. OpenX is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter, and someone who is dedicated to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive demand partner relationships with strategic clients who leverage OpenX products.
  • Identify and advise partner through integration optimizations and product upsells via a deep understanding of DSPs technical integrations
  • Own and drive forecast revenue goals against accounts based on maintaining current business and securing upsell opportunities including private market places, ad exchange, mobile, and video
  • Quarterly business review development and delivery of presentations, as well as conducing re-occurring in-person client meetings
  • Heavy project management where the AD will drive specific projects with little to no management support required
  • Strong cross-functional relationships with internal OpenX stakeholders including marketplace management, support, product and finance teams
  • AD level may act as a team lead to other AMs or Sr. AMs on the team; or be an individual contributor with strategic set of accounts
  • Operate as an industry expert, maintaining strong industry and competitive knowledge as well as have expert level of knowledge in all OpenX product lines

  Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years in managed accounts, relevant account management or sales experience in digital advertising, monetization and yield management
  • Experience building strategic relationships, overcoming tough issues in positive ways and interacting effectively with all levels (particularly c-level) within partners’ businesses, as well as within OpenX
  • Effective problem solver on all account issues with limited to no support from leadership team required
  • Expert knowledge in business analysis in the programmatic space and the ability to derive and provide expert advice and feedback to the company’s top clients.
  • Proven success in upselling current clients where revenue goals must be achieved; accountability for performance and revenue (hitting revenue goals)
  • An understanding of programmatic buying techniques and real time bidding
  • Experience working with Ad Exchanges, DSPs/SSPs, or Ad Networks
  • Highly organized, use to managing multiple projects to tight deadlines with great attention to detail
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills and must be able to teach/demonstrate these skills to more junior team members
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily
  • Expert skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • BA / BS degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Travel required

Desired Characteristics

  • Clear understanding of OpenX’s business and position in the market
  • Experience in public speaking, thought leadership and industry events
  • Familiarity with CRM or incident tracking and management systems such as Salesforce.com, Jira, Siebel, Remedy, Clarify, etc.
