OpenX Launches Professional Services and Support for Web Publishers

New Premium Services Include Installation Support, Training and Customized Development and Consulting for Market-Leading OpenX Ad Server

PASADENA, Calif., October 20, 2008 OpenX Technologies, Inc. (OpenX), the world’s leading independent ad server for web publishers, today announced the official launch of its new professional services and support packages for web publishers. The three new premium support packages offer a variety of installation, upgrade and training services and are primarily targeted at large and medium publishers who use the company’s popular ad server. The new professional services will also provide OpenX with a meaningful new revenue stream.

The services are being offered in response to significant demand from the vast OpenX community of more than 30,000 web publishers and 100,000 websites. In May 2008, the company conducted its first extensive community survey and one of the key implications was the clear need of community members for support and services to help them install and develop the OpenX ad server to meet their individual needs. A new, in-house professional services team, including many of the earliest contributors to the popular OpenX software, will be available to provide early access to new software releases, training sessions, and, depending on the particular package, 24/7 telephone support, onsite maintenance visits and a dedicated engineer. A dedicated account manager will be included for all three support package options.

“Offering professional services and support to our large and growing community is a natural extension of our open source roots and this initiative clearly demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the community,” said Tim Cadogan, chief executive officer, OpenX. “Adding world class, enterprise levels of support to our core ad serving product will help our publishers create and grow their businesses.”

“We needed to perform the upgrade to the latest version of the OpenX ad server within a complex operating environment,” said Susan Kober, program manager, Sun Microsystems, Inc. “Our partners at OpenX worked with our engineers and advertisers to develop the best plan, based on our requirements and timeline. Everyone we worked with at OpenX was professional, experienced and understood what was most important to Sun. This great attitude has made this process very smooth. We have full confidence that our ability to serve ads in a variety of ways is increased because of our partnership with OpenX. I would highly recommend their services and support!”

In addition to providing its own professional services and support, OpenX will continue to actively encourage its community of independent consultants to provide paid services to its publishers. The company will also continue to offer free online support
