OpenX Acquires SSP LiftDNA, Pulls Demand Channels Into One Place
Earlier today, multi-purpose advertising technology provider OpenX announced it had acquired the SSP (supply-side platform) LiftDNA, in the company’s first acquisition. By bringing together the LiftDNA’s SSP, which is unusual in that it works entirely within a publisher’s server, and OpenX’s ad server and ad exchange, the integrated platform allows publishers to work across all demand channels, and it allows buyers to access a real time bidding-enabled inventory of over 100 billion ad impressions per month. In other words, as OpenX CRO Jason Fairchild explained in a recent phone conversation, “all of that [decisioning] happens in one place. It’s much more efficient for publishers, and efficiency means money.”
